The Spirit of Ahupua‘a

In keeping with the centuries-old concept of ahupua‘a, Pohai Nani’s Fitness Program is based on a total integration of available resources for the common good of its community. Much more than just recreation for its residents and visiting seniors, the Fitness Program at Pohai Nani has become the standard by which other facilities are judged, providing a nurturing experience that can actually change the circumstances of aging.
Now in its fourth year, the Fitness Program offers a powerfully positive experience for the older adult. Based on the premise that through fitness people can actually change the ways in which they age, the program recognizes that adults have the capacity to alter the aging process and become healthier, happier, and more productive in day-to-day living.
Specifically designed to reinforce the overall health and well being of Pohai Nani residents, the Fitness Program has been in a state of constant growth in order to encompass a complete range of exercises, activities and equipment and to serve an exponentially-growing aging population.
